For this social design project, I aimed to creatively revitalize ancient rituals by making them accessible in a modern context. Inspired by the practice of nurturing Sabzeh, I designed a project that combined eco-conscious design with meaningful social interaction.
The project focused on spreading the ancient ritual of wish grass in an interactive and community-centered way. I designed portable cases from recycled materials that made caring for the Sabzeh easy and portable. These cases allowed to carry yout grass with you, making plant care a part of daily routine, wherever you are.
Participants were invited to take care of a small Sabzeh plant for 13 days, a significant number in the tradition. On the final day, the grass, with wishes tied to it, would be placed in water to symbolically release those hopes and dreams. If someone was unable to care for their grass, they could pass it along to someone else, creating a chain of social connections. The key aspect was that participants stayed in touch throughout these 13 days, ensuring that the grass was nurtured and documenting its journey.
